Victoria Drewa
Quick Synopsis: It’s the middle of World War II in Germany and twenty year old Louisa Bittikofer and her family are dealing with hard times. Louisa’s mother has come down with cancer and her father has been taken captive by the British. What’s a girl to do? Easy…pretend to be a man and join the German Army in order to somehow find her father.
My Review: When I was twelve years old I spent my time playing Nintendo and eating Cheetos, reading books was considered OK, but only if I had already beaten Zelda. Writing books, however, was not even an option…my short sighted imagination wouldn’t allow for it. Which is why I’m so impressed with Victoria Drewa, my 12 year old soon to be sister in law who wrote her first novel and sent it to me a couple weeks ago.
More impressive than the novel itself is the fact that the story takes place in World War II, fifty years before she was even born. The story takes the reader from a tough family situation through a tough individual crisis as the main woman in the story tries desperately to save her father from captivity, and then herself from certain death.
I wanted to make sure I wrote a ‘review’ for this book, which is truly an enjoyable read, and share it with everybody who would like to read it. It really is good and quite impressive. So check it out here: Soon, and Finally
thanks for the review, I appreciate it!
How’s Afghan?
Congratulations Victoria. You’ve done well. What a bright young woman you must me.
I don’t know which of the Drewa families your lineage is involved.
But should you want any info for those DREWA’s who were in the southern U.S., let me know and I will send you a DVD of “The Drewa’s & Related Families”. The info on the web site is very outdated and was initially done as an experiment. However, it’s endowed for another 25 years. I will have to get this new info included when I can locate someone to come to my home to transfer to web from Word. Had hoped to get another completed re our Polish/German heritage, but age and health caught up with me.
Blessings to you and yours. Keep up the good work
Sincerely,
Vernon H. Drewa, Jr.

Hi, Uncle Vernon, I am Richard Drewa’s daughter. I think you sent my dad some copies of “The Drewa’s & Related Families”. You might want to ask my brother David if he’d like to update the web site, he’s very good at the kind of stuff. His e-mail address is david@drewadesigns.com if you want it.
