I got my car washed in January. I got it washed, waxed, vaccumed…I paid a good fifty bucks to get it done. My car is brand new, so I have this thing against going through the gas station car wash. Something about seeing a guy with an actual detail towel go over the car that makes me feel a little more comfortable. Thing is…when I washed it in January, it rained a few days later. That was my fault really, after all…it was January.I’m new to San Antonio, so I’m still figuring out the weather patterns. Had it been Seattle I would have known. So, I told myself I was going to resist washing the car until the summer weather. Even as the dust piled up and fingerprints began to spell words and make shapes, I resisted washing my car. That’s a lot of money to spend on only one good day of good clean car.
Alas…the last two weeks brought sunny weather. Not only sunny weather but warm. The summer weather must be here, right?? After all…it’s San Antonio…and well, it’s always warm here.
I washed my car on Saturday. This time only thirty bucks. But a good washing, inside and out. I promise you…my car looked real good that night.
Sunday morning came the rain. Of course, and not just any rain…a lot of rain and thunder.
The last two days (Sunday and Monday) have been decent days only to have thunderstorms throughout the night. My bed literally shook the last two nights and car alarms were going off outside. Today is the same thing, only the storm didn’t wait until night to come. I got to home early from work though…so thats good…yet on the way home I couldn’t see the road through the rain on my windshield.
I guess that figures. So maybe I won’t wash my car until July. Either that or I’ll consult a San Antonio veteran before or I do.
