I was going through some old writings and found a poem I wrote a couple years ago. Steph and I had been dating for a few months when she left to visit Europe for a month with friends, leaving me alone to get that left behind feeling. I missed her, so I decided to write her a poem. Unfortunately, I’m not great at being romantic, so what started that way turned out like this. It’s the best I could do.
Now what do I do?
I could read a book
or better yet…
write a haiku.
I guess…since I’m lazy
I could strum my guitar
That’s all I can think of
………so far
I twiddled my thumbs
but now my wrists hurt
I made myself toast
but, yeah…
….it burnt.
I tried this new thing
and went to the gym
But, let’s be honest…
I’m already thin.
I guess I’ll just sit here
and look at this pic
I’ll lie on my bed
and try not to get sick
I’ll think of your smile
and try not to cry
And if I do…
…I’ll lie.
So enjoy your travels
Eat lots of food
Lay on the beach
But, please…
…not nude.
I’ll wait right here
Right here’s where I’ll be
When you come home
…finally…
to me

nice
Hahaha. That’s really cute. I think that writing a poem about your lady is pretty romantic, regardless of how goofy you think it sounds.
