I have moved on to Trinidad and Tobago. I made it here safe and sound last night after two C-130 flights from Grenada. The flights were rough, as all flights in a C-130 are for me. The newer J models aren’t bad at all (we flew in one from Miami to Grenada), but the older models have strong fumes and like to move around a lot for some reason. It’s a good way to test your motion sickness skills. I still don’t have any.
After I arrived last night I was met without a room. The issues were solved quickly enough and I was able to put my stuff down and make it to a local mall here about a 20 minute walk from the hotel. A big group of us went and had some nice big steaks. The second best meal of the trip so far. The best was some spicy Jerk Chicken from Grenada. I want some more.
The exchanges here are going well. There are about 20 Airmen here interacting with Airmen from the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard. I completed a story today that will hopefully be up and running on AFN and The Pentagon Channel soon. I’ll post it below so you can see my lovely face and get a good idea of what’s going on.
I should be here through Sunday and then off to Jamaica. Unless the plane breaks. Again. Pray it doesn’t!
