It’s amazing how you can feel so much for people you don’t even know. For the last five months or so I’ve been keeping tabs on the Strauss family in Seattle, Washington. They’ve been sharing the story of their 11-year-old daughter Gloria’s struggle with cancer with columnists from the Seattle Times.
Gloria died last night. I’ve never met her, or the family. But it’s sad all the same.

I think it captures one of the central tenets of the Christian faith, even though it was clearly written from a secular POV…
God’s will is not always to physically heal us, but through suffering He can change lives for the better.
Interesting sidenote to the article. The author’s name is Jerry Brewer…that’s my father’s name.
